Marilyn R. Sundquist, 70, of Toms River, NJ passed away Sunday May 16, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Jersey City, NJ to the late William and Alberta Hoy, Marilyn grew up in Carteret and had lived in North Arlington, Lyndhurst and Rahway before settling here in Toms River in 2005. Marilyn was a Receptionist for Western Electric whom became AT&T and later Lucent Technologies for 27 years and then went on to become a temporary toll collector on the NJ Turnpike for 8 years finally retiring in 2008.
Marilyn enjoyed camping, shopping, cooking but most importantly Marilyn loved being with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Marilyn was predeceased by her siblings, William Hoy Jr., Kathleen Rutsky and her brother in law William Ford. Marilyn is survived by her loving husband Victor of 51 plus years, her two children, daughter, Donna Dunaway and her husband Paul, son Steven Sundquist and his wife Zuzana, her 8 grandchildren; Jimmy, Jessica, Jaycie, Joseph, Dylan, Sarah, Aidan, Jadyn, her two great grandchildren, Abigail and Alcides. Marilyn is also survived by her 7 siblings; Sharon Borcsak, Elaine Morhmann and her husband Richard, Richard Hoy, Patty McElroy and her husband Kyle, Lorraine Hoy, Regina Peer and her husband Tim and Michelle Feeney and her husband Paul, brother in law Walter Rutsky, sister in law, Judy Ford and a host of loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
A visitation will be held Monday May 24, 2021 from 4-8 pm at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Rd., Toms River. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, May 25, 2021 12 pm at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, with interment to follow to the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
