Marilyn E. Urato, born December 15, 1945, was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and a true family person. She lived a wonderful life filled with love, family, hard work, good food, music, laughter, and countless memories.
Marilyn shared a beautiful and happy marriage with the love of her life, Peter Urato Sr. They were married in 1968 and built their life together as partners in both marriage and business. Peter passed away on September 5, 2016, and Marilyn always carried his memory and their years together in her heart.
Together, Marilyn and Peter owned and operated several businesses. In the 1970s, they owned Fisherman’s World, a retail fishing business. From 1980 through 2024, the family was also involved with Pete’s Sport-O-Rama in Bloomfield, New Jersey, a fishing and hunting business that was deeply loved by its customers. Through the years, Marilyn and Peter worked hard, built lasting relationships, and created a life they could be proud of.
Marilyn was the proud mother of her only child, Peter Urato Jr., loving mother-in-law to Laura A. Urato
Marilyn was a devoted grandmother to her beloved twins, Raffaela Grace Urato and Peter Joseph Urato.
Family meant everything to Marilyn. Some of the happiest memories were the times they spent together, including their wonderful family trip to Disney World. Those moments of being together, laughing, sharing meals, and simply enjoying one another are memories that will be treasured forever.
Marilyn had many things she loved. She loved the Ocean, boats, music, cooking, going out to eat great food, especially dining out and Italian food, and trips to Atlantic City, New Jersey. She enjoyed television series such as Charlie Chan and so many other things that brought her comfort and happiness. But above all, she loved her family.
Marilyn often said that she had a “Great Life.” And she truly did. She was grateful for the life she had, the family she built, the love she shared with Peter, and the many memories created throughout the years.
Before she left us, Mom asked me to continue to love and help our family, as I always have. That is something I will carry with me always.
Mom, I miss your talks—and your too many questions, lol. But those questions were just another way you showed how much you cared, how much you loved us, and how deeply you wanted to know that we were all okay.
You were the best Mom anyone could ask for.
We love you, Mom, and although our hearts are broken, we are happy knowing that you are finally with Dad again. You spent so many wonderful years together, and now you are together in Heaven.
Thank you for giving us your love, your strength, your memories, and a lifetime of love to carry with us.
Love you, Mom.
Until we meet again.
