

Marlyn A. Gale (Lyn) 83, of Bayville, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, September 22, 2024, with her beloved husband by her side. She was born in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, to the late Martin and Esther Abrahamsen and spent her childhood in Bay Ridge, NY. Marlyn later moved to Parsippany, NJ, where she resided for much of her life before settling in Bayville.
Marlyn was a graduate of Fort Hamilton High School and attended Berkeley Secretarial School. She worked as a Private Secretary for Alcoa Steamship Company, Inc. before dedicating herself to her family as a loving homemaker and mother.
She met her high School sweetheart and loving husband Robert (Bob) Gale in 1955 and they were together for 60 wonderful and memorable years. He affectionately called her Molly.
Marlyn always enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved taking cruises, especially to Bermuda, and enjoyed escapes to many locations along the Jersey Shore by boat and car, often serving as a first mate and copilot, as well as cheering alongside the love of her life for New York sports teams.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Robert E. Gale; her loving children, Robert M. Gale and his wife, Beth, and Richard Gale and his wife, Luisa; her cherished grandchildren, Jordan, Emily, and Nicholas; her brother-in-law William DeAngelis; and her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Karen L. DeAngelis.
Visiting hours will be held from 8:30 am to 10:00 am at Quinn Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road Toms River, NJ 08755 where a funeral service will begin at 10:00 am.
