

Marty J. Mihalek, 79, of Toms River passed away peacefully at home on Thursday March 1st, 2012. Marty came to Jersey City in 1945 at the age of 13 from Slovakia with his brother, Steve, to be reunited with the family after WWll. He resided in Port Reading before moving to Toms River in 1988. He was employed by Western Electric for 33 years. After retiring he began a new adventure as a school bus driver for 9 years for the Toms River school system. Marty was a Holiday City First Aid Squad volunteer, an avid bowler and enjoyed playing golf. He also spent many hours on the Bocce court at Silver Ridge East Clubhouse. Marty loved traveling with wife, Ana and visiting family in Slovakia. He was a communicant of St. Maximilian Kolbe R.C. Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 23 yrs, Ana, a daughter Debbie, two sons Mark and Brian, stepdaughter Ana Long and husband Alan, stepson Raymond Bartosek, two brothers Emil and wife, Veronica, Edward and wife, Joan, two sisters Mary Rindosh, Joan Kozzi and husband John, two sisters-in-law Harriet Mihalek and Irene Mihalek, five grandchildren Harley and Kelsea Mihalek and Cory, Nathaniel and Larissa Long and many nieces and nephews. Marty was predeceased by his parents Steve and Mary Mihalek, brothers Joseph and Steve, and brother-in-law William Rindosh. Visitation will be Sunday March 4th, 2012 from 4-8 PM at Quinn Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Rd, Toms River. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday March 5th, 2012 at 11:30am at St. Maximilian Kolbe R.C. Church. Interment at St. Joseph Cemetery
