Mary Monfiletto

Mary Monfiletto, 89, of Whitesboro, New York, formerly of Toms River, NJ, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, May 16, 2025. Born in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Felice and Rosa Tarantino, Mary grew up in Brooklyn and later moved to Long Island, Queens, Pennsylvania, New Jersey then back to New York two years ago. She was a Nurse for many years and especially enjoyed her work with the geriatric patients.

Mary enjoyed reading, socializing, being on the beach and being involved with her churches. Most importantly Mary loved spending time with her family and friends.

Mary was predeceased by her loving husband of 62 years Lou and her sister Jean Doria. Surviving are her loving children; her son Joe Monfiletto and his wife Colleen, her daughter Roseanne Silverstein and her husband Mike, her daughter Marylou Devery and her husband Patrick, her seven grandchildren; Amy (Mickey), Annie (Jon), Allison (Cameron), Lysa (Joe), Jonathan (Kim), Tim (Andrew), JoAnna (Evan), her ten great grandchildren; Oliver, Luke, Harrison, Sara, Lutcia, Dalton, Max, Lucy, Joey and Dean. Also surviving is her brother, Charlie and his wife Marie and a host of loving nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 26, 2025 from 6-9 pm at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Rd., Toms River. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, 10 am at St. Joseph's RC Church, Toms River with entombment to follow to Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River.
