Maryann (Capitelli) Korz, 89, passed away on June 1, 2026. Born on January 7, 1937, in Englewood, New Jersey. Maryann lived a life marked by steady devotion to family, quiet strength, and a generosity of spirit that will be long remembered. Maryann, a lifelong New Jersey native, was living in West Norriton, Pennsylvania at the time of her passing.
Maryann was a resident of North Bergen and Cliffside Park, New Jersey for several years before relocating to Ridgefield Park, New Jersey. She later retired to Ocean County, having lived in both Barnegat and Toms River. Throughout her life‘s journey, she exemplified, resilience, compassion, and a deep care for others.
A devoted homemaker, Maryann also worked at the Senior Center in Cliffside Park prior to retirement. Whether at home or in service to her community, she was known for her hardworking nature, her compassion, and the selfless way she gave her time and attention to others. Even in the midst of responsibility, she could bring a welcome lightness and her humor was always a familiar comfort to family and friends.
More than anything, Maryann cherished time spent with her family and friends. She shared many meaningful days with them in the Poconos and along the New Jersey shore. She took great pride in her home, keeping it warm, welcoming, and impeccably cared for.
Exercise remained an important part of Maryann‘s life, and even in her later years, she stayed committed to her routine, often enjoying walks and keeping herself active throughout the day. Her favorite moments were those spent sharing a glass of wine with others.
She was a devoted New York Yankees fan, often watching the games with her husband.
Maryann was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Korz; her son, Kevin Korz; her sisters, Carolyn Roselle and Louise Magarelli, and her brother, Pat Capitelli; as well as her parents, Ann Capitelli and Frank Capitelli. She is survived by her sons, David Korz (Joanne) and Darren Korz (Kerry); her sisters, Adele Hutnik and Christine Sebest; and is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 2 step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and extended family.
Relatives and friends will be received on Saturday, June 27, 2026 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River, NJ 08755. Her memorial service will be conducted in the funeral home at 12:00 p.m.
