Matilda H Long

Matilda "Mattie" Long, 94, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, March 3, 2013. She was born in Manhattan and raised in Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y . Prior to moving to Toms River in 1987, she resided in Floral Park, N.Y., where she worked in the Treasurer’s Office of St. Johns University in Jamaica, Queens for over 20 years. She was a parishioner of St. Josephs R.C. Church in Toms River, and a daily communicant. Matilda was pre-deceased by her husband of 47 years, Thomas (Tom) in 1989. Surviving are her daughters, Patricia Garret (Edward) of Whitingham, Vt., and Barbara Bradshaw (Alfred) of South Orange, and her grandchildren, Karl Blaha, and Ian and Chase Bradshaw. Visitation will be Sunday, March 10, 2013 from 12 - 3 p.m. at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River 08755. A funeral service will be offered on Monday, March 11, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the New Jersey Veterans' Cemetery in Arneytown, N.J.
