Mike was born in Newark, New Jersey on December 28, 1969 to his mother, Judith Edwards, and father, Stephen Astringer. Mike grew up in Ocean County, but lived throughout the country, most notably in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he spent 10 years with his children.
Upon returning to the east coast, Mike founded Human Capital Consultants and dedicated most of his professional career to its growth. The only thing stronger than Mike’s work ethic was his love for his family. He was exceptionally proud of his son and daughter, and was not afraid to share their recent accomplishments with anyone who would listen. He was also a tremendous grandfather to Felix, who he adored to no end and for whom he had the highest of ambitions.
In addition to his professional pursuits, Mike had several hobbies, but especially loved cars, boating, motorcycles, and politics. He had a passion for and took pride in his Cadillacs and was a member of two car clubs: the Verrazzano Cadillac Club of Brooklyn/Staten Island, NY, and the Cadillac Allanté /XLR Club. He loved boating and being on the water, a trait his inherited from his father. He enjoyed traveling and easily made new friends, who loved his great sense of humor. Animals also held a special place in his heart.
Mike was predeceased by his father, Stephen, in 1981.
Surviving is his wife of 18 years, Kimberly; his children: Stephen (wife Adrianna), and Michelle Astringer; his step-daughter: Nichole Ennis; his grandson, Felix; his mother, Judy Edwards (husband Allen); his siblings: Scott and Karen Astringer; and several close cousins and extended family members.
