Born in Paterson, he was a long time resident of the Silver Ridge community of Toms River.
Prior to retiring, he was a heavy equipment operator for the Local 825 Operating Engineers, where he worked for 40 years.
Michael was an avid NASCAR fan and a member of the International Order of the Elks lodges in Toms River and Forked River, where he was also a member of the color guard. A true patriot, Michael loved his country very deeply. Michael had great respect for all service personnel and would always stop to bless and thank them for their service.
He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Carmela D'Onofrio; and by his brother, Albert D'Onofrio.
Surviving is his loving wife of 35 years, Christine; his brother, Tony; and his sister, Ann Marie.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2021 from 4-8PM at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River.
A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, July 30, 2021 at 10AM. Interment will immediately follow at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River.
