He was a longtime resident of Freehold and a graduate of Freehold Regional High School Class of 1967. He then attended the Atlas Barbering School of NY and took up the trade of barbering and was employed many years in Freehold at Joe’s Barber Shop and then Holiday City Barber Shop in Toms River where his outgoing friendly personality & lighthearted way made his clients feel at home. He liked to claim he was the best “crew cutter” around.
He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War aboard the USS Denver out of the Naval Air Station in Long Beach CA in 1968 and Honorably Discharged in 1970. He served for many years as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Joseph RC Church in Toms River and St Maximilian Kolbe Church of Toms River. He was a past member of the Knights of Columbus, Toms River.
Mickey was always a true friend to his friends and family and was a loyal and caring soul with a great belly laugh and a love for NASCAR racing and his dog Liza who has found a perfect loving home.
Mickey is predeceased by his father, Elmer Patterson, his mother Irene Grasberger Patterson Barber and his step father Edward R. Barber and leaves behind extended family members and friends who will miss him.
