Muriel M. Burns age 95 of Toms River, died Tuesday March 15th. She was a teacher at the Westwood Middle School, Westwood and prior at the Academy of the Holy Angels, Demarest before retiring 30 years ago. She was an active volunteer and a member of the Twig’s at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born in New York City, she lived in Teaneck for 45 years before moving to Toms River in 1985. She was predeceased by her husband Robert T. Burns in 1994.
Surviving is her daughter Barbara O’Hara and her husband Kevin of Hackensack, 2 grandsons John Casey O’Hara of Hoboken and Sean O’Hara of Hackensack.
Visiting will be held Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Quinn Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Rd., Toms River. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 9:15 AM Friday at St. Luke R. C. Church, Toms River. Entombment will follow at Cloverleaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge.
