Toms River, NJ – Nannette McKendrick, 65, (November 21, 1956 to December 2, 2021) passed away unexpectedly at a Toms River hospital on the afternoon of December 2, 2021. Nan was born in Brooklyn, NY and spent most of her life spreading positivity, wisdom, and joy. She was most recently employed at Ferguson Plumbing as an Executive Assistant for the Northeast District.
Family was everything; she was the rock, the go-to for anything in life: the anchor. There wasn’t a soul Nan did not touch in a supportive and helpful way. She was a selfless woman who threw herself into anything that would lend a helping hand, including many charity events with Habitat for Humanity, growing vegetables for the women’s homeless shelter, and her extensive time with the Blue Thong Society, another women’s support group. As if she wasn’t busy enough, she thoroughly enjoyed her time out on the water with her loving husband, their dog, Molly, and their B Dock friends. Her peace and tranquility was found on their boat under the blue sky with a panoramic view of the horizon. Her illuminating smile, contagious laughter, and one-of-a-kind dance moves were undeniable. Nan was honest, non-bias, genuine, inclusive, and the best mother and friend anyone could have in this world. Nan was a well-loved woman, mother, loving wife, sister, aunt, and grandmother.
Nannette McKendrick is survived by her husband Gene, daughters Faith and Laura, sons Jeffrey and Patrick, as well as her 7 beautiful grandchildren, Andrew, Kailani, Malia. Waylon, Alanna, Adeline and Amelia. Nannette is also survived by her brother Bill and sister Michelle and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
There will be a viewing on Tuesday, December 7th at Quinn Hopping Funeral Home in Toms River, NJ from 2pm to 4pm and a second viewing from 6pm to 8pm, with a celebration of life to begin at 7 pm. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.quinn-hoppingfh.com
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to be made in Nannette’s honor to Habitat for Humanity and the Toms River Animal Shelter.
