Born Nannette Edwards on September 3, 1930 in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of Julia Edwards Bowes. She was united in marriage to Daniel O’Halloran for 47 years. He preceded her in death in 2000.
Nancy was a loving mother and homemaker. A woman of unwavering faith, she was a devoted parishioner of St. Michael’s Church and Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Brooklyn. Her lovely voice was raised in the choirs of both churches. When she moved to Berkeley Twp. in 1997, she became a parishioner of St. Maximilian Kolbe Church and was an active member of Holiday City, a volunteer at Deborah Center, and a member of the Red Hat Society. Her health declined and she fought a long, hard battle.
She is survived by five children, Gerard and wife, Janet of CO; Chris of CO; Julia Faraci and husband, Philip of CT; Hugh and wife, Bernadette of NY; and Maureen Foppiano and husband, Andrew of NY. She was a wonderful grandmother to Brian, Sean, Michael, Rose, Catherine, Julia, Nicholas, and Daniel; and great-grandmother to six.
She was lovingly cared for by her friend Beatrice Boateng, and by her children. The family shares their greatest gratitude with all those who cared for Nancy. Nancy’s beautiful voice and her kind demeanor will be remembered by all. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to: Deborah HCB Chapter c/o Deborah Hospital Foundation, P.O. Box 820, Browns Mill, NJ 08015.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Friday, May 11th at Quinn Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River, NJ.
