Nerina "Nettie" Fuccello

Her parents migrated from Italy in the 1920’s and settled in Italian East Harlem, NY. She attended Holy Rosary Boarding School. She worked in sales at Bonwit Teller NYC before marrying her husband and moved to New Brunswick NJ in 1955. Worked at St. Peter’s Hospital as a Unit Clerk before having children. In 1964 she moved to Edison NJ with her husband and children. She was a devoted wife and mother who mastered delicious culinary skills. In 1992, she and her husband moved to Boynton Beach Florida for retirement. Was an active member of the Italian American Club and went to the gym daily. After the passing of her husband in 2013, she moved to Toms River with her daughter who was the light of her life. She never drove, utilized public transportation and her great legs for walking to the stores for exercise until she was 90. She was an innately happy person all the time with a great sense of humor. She was absolutely fun to be around. She was always pleasant, thoughtful, kind and never said a mean thing about anyone. She exuded patience and strength throughout her lifetime. Always found the good in everyone. She embraced everyone she met with acceptance and support, giving unconditional love. Everyone who met her had only wonderful things to say about her. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren, great grandchildren and family. She loved butterflies, Bingo, card games and the occasional trip to a casino. She was an active member at the Toms River Senior Center and made monthly contributions to St. Jude. As a Mother to her daughter she truly was a gift from God….

Nettie was predeceased by Loved Ones: Father Dante Sambuco. Mother Rosina Sambuco. Brothers Gustavo. Hugo and Dominic Sambuco. Husband Joseph Fuccello. Son Joseph Fuccello Jr. Son in law Edward Breuer. Mother in law Giacomina (Louise) and father in law Salvatore Fuccello. Sister in law Carmella (JoJo) and brother in law John Castellano. Niece Theresa Scholl and husband Thomas Scholl. Nephew Kevin Scholl.

Surviving Family Members: Loving daughter Jacqueline Breuer and fiance Mark Erb. Loving Grandson Christopher Breuer and wife Kristina Breuer and great grandson Levi. Loving Granddaughter Victoria Wood and husband Bryan Wood and great grandson Stanley and great granddaughter Maisie. Loving Nephews and nieces: Nephew & Godson Christopher Balle and his children Brandon, Brittany, Bridget Balle. Niece Deborah Barry and her children Brooke Mulligan, husband Patrick Mulligan and Trevor Barry. Nephew Roger Balle and wife Trina and their children Emily & Ronin. Nephew John Balle. Nephew Dennis Scholl and his son Hudson. Dear cousin Fran Rossi. Barbara and Steven Haggerty. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Friday July 25, 2025 at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road Toms River, NJ 08755. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 am at St. Joseph’s RC Church 685 Hooper Avenue Toms River, NJ 08753. Cremation will be private.
