Olga Aray

With her children at her side, a great light went out on August 1st, when Olga Aray peacefully rejoined her beloved husband, Rene (just days before their wedding anniversary) her sister, mother and other cherished loved ones who have gone before her.

Olga was born and raised in Managua, Nicaragua. As a shy eighteen-year-old, Olga bravely immigrated to New York City all by herself, leaving behind her family and the familiar comforts of her home in Nicaragua in search of the American dream.

Throughout her adult life, Olga moved with her husband, eventually leaving behind the hustle and bustle of the Bronx for the quiet charm of the small town. She and her husband settled in Bayville, New Jersey, where they built their life together and raised their family.

Olga was predeceased by her beloved husband of 48 years, Rene; her sister, Mercedes; her mother Rosa and numerous other beloved family members and friends.

She is survived by her son Eddie Aray, her daughter Ruthie Wolf and her husband Tim, her sister Leonor Reyes, her four grandsons Mateo, Diego, Santos & Marcos and her sister of the heart Nereyda Campos (her two daughters Miriam and Maria Elena).

Before becoming ill, Olga was an active member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Roman Catholic Church. She was a devoted mother who never missed an opportunity to be there for her children and grandchildren. She managed to attend all of their activities and was always present to support, encourage, and celebrate them. Most of all, she treasured her family and the time she spent with them.

It is difficult to put into words just how gracious a woman Olga was and the countless ways she manifested God’s love for others. In everything she did—as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend—she gave of herself wholeheartedly. She was truly one of the sweetest, kindest souls one could ever encounter.

Those who knew Olga will remember her beautiful heart, her warmth, her unwavering love for her family, and the light she brought into the lives of everyone around her.

A great light went out on August 1st, but a glow remains—a glow that will continue to brighten and warm the hearts of all who were blessed to know this wonderful soul.

Arrangements are being handled by Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home. A viewing will be held at 26 Mule Road, Toms River, NJ 08755, on Wednesday, August 5th, from 2:00–5:00 p.m. at 4:30 there will be a prayer service with a repast immediately following at B2 Bistro in Bayville, all are invited to join us to celebrate Olga’s life.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to JBJ Soup Kitchen in Olga’s memory. They have a Pay It Forward program, and according to their website, a $20 donation provides a meal for someone who is unable to pay.
