

Olga Loutsyk Surowiec, 87, of Toms River passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at her home. Olga was born in Russiv, Ukraine where she built a full life raising a family and managing a general store before emigrating to Canada in 1995. There, she volunteered through her church for several years before moving to the US in 1999. Since settling down in New Jersey, she stayed active within the Ukrainian community. She maintained her love of sewing, knitting, and embroidery, always wearing traditional clothing for special occasions and holidays. She was an avid reader who also loved music, dancing, and taking care of her garden.
She is survived by her two children, a daughter Irina Truex of Toms River, NJ, and a son Nikolai Loutsik and his wife Maria of North Delta, British Columbia; her 4 grandchildren, Maria Galgon and her husband Steve; Michael, Christina, and Julian; three great-granddaughters, Mallory, Jocelyn, and Emilia; her sister, Maria of Campbell River, British Columbia; her niece, and nephew, and many close friends and family, all of whom she loved dearly. She is predeceased by her brother, Mykhailo, and nephew, Igor.
Viewing hours will be offered on Tuesday, March 18, from 4-8 pm at Quinn Hopping Funeral home, at 26 Mule Rd. in Toms River, NJ 08755. A funeral mass will be offered on Wednesday, March 19, at 10:00am at St. Stephens Ukranian Catholic Church at 1344 White Oak Bottom Rd., Toms River, NJ, 08755.
