Patricia A. Vanetti, age 68, of Berkeley Township passed away on Monday, April 1, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Patricia had lived in Harrisburg & Connellsville Pennsylvania; Newburgh, New York; Bristol, Virginia; and Howell, New Jersey before settling in Berkeley Township in 2019. Patricia graduated from Howell High School in 1973. Throughout her life, Patricia worked for J.G. McCrory Stores, and the Wawa Corporation, but is proudest of her many years working for George Dittmar, most recently as a bookkeeper.
Patricia took great pride in her home gardens, tending to them carefully each season by planting some of her favorite flowers: zinnia, daffodils, gladiolas and vinca. She was a self-taught excellent cook, who loved to play hostess for her family and friends. She especially loved listening to her husband, Rich play her favorite songs on their grand piano, as well as fishing alongside her husband, reeling in catches from local lakes, shorelines, and the beaches along the Atlantic Ocean’s coast. Picnics, barbeques, clambakes, and holiday gatherings were special times for Patty, when she was able to gather with her family, which she held as precious.
She was predeceased by her parents, David & Geraldine Geiss, and George & Barbara Smith, her sister Nellie Mae (Cookie) Kotsch, and the father of her children, Raymond W. Eldridge.
She is survived by the love of her life, her loving husband Richard Vanetti. Though married for only two years, their loving partnership has spanned over 23 years.
She is also survived by her children, Raymond (Danielle) Eldridge, Amy Eldridge, Shawn Eldridge, and her precious grandchildren, Raymond and Paige Eldridge.
Patricia is survived by her siblings: Kathryn (Richard) Jacobs, Jacqueline (Michael) Moore, Darryl (Rita) Geiss, Drew (Eileen) Geiss, Connie (Danny) Bernet, and Lumi; and also by several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, as well as great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 8, 2024 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM and 7:00 - 9:00 PM & Tuesday, April 9, 2024 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, with a memorial service beginning at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made in her memory to the Bristol-Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital to support their work in Pediatric Oncology, at https://www.rwjbh.org/rwj-university-hospital-new-brunswick/giving/ways-to-give/giving-to-children/ or to the New Jersey Chapter of the Make a Wish Foundation, at https://wish.org/nj.
