

Peter Demyanovich, 73, of Toms River passed away on Monday December 3rd, 2012 at home. Born in the City of New York and having migrated to New Jersey, Peter Demyanovich was graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School, Elizabeth, NJ, in June 1957. He served in the United States Coast Guard Reserves for eight years, and was honorably discharged in the capacity of Yeoman, 2nd Class on November 17th, 1967.
He later continued his education and was graduated from Kean (University) College of New Jersey with an English Literature Major and the degree of Bachelor of Arts in June of 1980. He continued his education at Rutgers State University Graduate School of Library and Information Studies, and received his Masters of Library Science in January 21st, 1983, and his Professional Librarian’s Certification on February 17, 1983.
While attending High School, he was employed by the Elizabeth Public Library, in New Jersey, where he continued working in various capacities for 38 years of service, he retired with the capacity of Supervising Librarian of Circulation and Systems Manager for the computerization of a library network consisting of several Union County Libraries.
He also served as a Eucharist Minister at St. Mary’s Parish of Rahway, NJ for many years and more recently became an Usher at St. Maximilian Kolbe Roman Catholic Church in Berkeley Township in the Toms River section of Holiday City.
Having resided in New York City, Elizabeth, NJ and Rahway, NJ he and his wife Maryann later retired to Holiday City of Berkeley, Toms River, NJ.
He was predeceased by his loving wife Maryann Zabita, and surviving relatives are his son Christopher Peter, his granddaughter Ava and sisters Helen Percario and MaryJane Gross.
Visitation will be Wednesday December 5th, 2012 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Quinn Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road Toms River, NJ 08755. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday December 6th, 2012 at 11:30am at St. Maximilian Kolbe R.C. Church. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Holiday City Berkeley First Aid Squad, 100 Port Royal Drive, Toms River, NJ 08757.
