

Peter was born in Simpson, PA. and resided in Newark, NJ. Son of Stephen and Clementine Roskowski. He was youngest of five brothers, who all predeceased him, Charles, Adolph, Edmund and his twin Paul.
He graduated from West Side High School, Newark, NJ June, 1954. Graduated County College of Morris in 1975 and William Paterson College in 1977. He entered the US Navy and served 1955-1957 (active) and the Reserves thru 1963. He received Occupation Medal (Europe). His ship was USS Salem. He was a member of the USS Salem Association.
Peter became an Essex County Police Officer in 1966, then he was a Detective for the Essex County Sheriff's Dept. Retired after 30 years. He was a member of PBA Local 183.
Peter met his wife Carolyn in 1983 and married in 1988. They resided in Bloomfield until they moved to Holiday Heights, Toms River in 2004.
He enjoyed fishing, golf, playing pool, visiting Atlantic City and OTB. He played cards weekly with friends in the Community. He also played bocce and enjoyed going to the pool.
He was for a time president of Americans of Italian Heritage Club. Enjoyed bus trips and cruises with friends from HH and Italian American Club.
Peter is survived by his wife Carolyn, son Edmund Roskowski, daughter Suzanne Hannon and husband Dave, step-daughter Karen Veneziano and husband Derek Kiley, stepson the late Michael Miceli and his wife Sandra. He had 9 grandchildren, Eddy, Coby, Dylan, Luke and Jake Roskowski. Nicolina Veneziano Rutherford and husband Sean, Michael Veneziano, Michael Miceli and Matt Miceli.
A memorial visitation for Peter will be held Friday, January 20, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Quinn Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River, NJ 08755.
