Rita J. D'Amato

Daughter of the late John Bercik and Rita (Bercik) Robertson, Rita was born in Elizabeth NJ. Rita was a devoted homemaker, loving wife, mother, and proud grandmother. She worked as an Executive Secretary at UPS for over 25 years, where she made many lifelong friends. Rita thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her friends at the local Ladies Red Hat Society in Toms River, NJ. She was a communicant of St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church Toms River, NJ.

She was predeceased by her husband, Rocky D'Amato, who died November 25, 2015; siblings John Jr. and James Bercik.

Rita leaves behind her beloved sons, James and his wife Janine of Davenport, FL, Michael D'Amato of Pine Beach, NJ, and her cherished grandchildren, Jamie and Andrew D'Amato. Rita was blessed with a large extended family. She was close with her many treasured nieces and nephews, along with her multiple generations of dear, appreciated and deeply loved cousins.

Rita had a joyful exuberance for meeting people and made friends wherever she went. Upon moving to Toms River, she made a close circle of friends within her community and helped many, as they in turn took care of her. A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 23 at 10:00 AM at St. Maximilian RC Church, Toms River, NJ.
