Rita Mancino, 80, of Toms River, NJ, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, Rita spent much of her life in Brooklyn and The Poconos before settling in Toms River 20 years ago. Known for her big heart and boundless compassion, she rescued dozens of cats and dogs over the years, providing them with a loving home.
For more than 30 years, Rita and her beloved husband, Tony, shared a passion for their business, “Hats and Stuff,” selling their wares at street fairs, flea markets, and a local mall. A devoted fan of Willie Nelson, Rita also enjoyed movies, television, and all things pop culture. Above all, she cherished her family, friends, and pets.
Rita is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years, Anthony, who she had been with for more than 65 years; her two sons, Daniel (Stephanie) and Dean (Amy); her grandchildren, Samantha Burke (Tim) and Stephen Mancino (Alyssa); and her great-grandson, Tyse Grant Burke.
A Celebration of Rita’s Life will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Rd., Toms River, NJ.
