Robert Krzykalski, 82, died on September 14, 2026. Born on November 5, 1943, in Jersey City, NJ, he was raised there and later became a longtime resident of Bayonne, NJ, before moving to Toms River, NJ in 2011.
Robert was a graduate of Dickinson High School in Jersey City and Fairleigh Dickinson University in Rutherford, NJ. He built a steady and respected career as an accountant, serving several firms throughout his lifetime—work marked by diligence, reliability, and pride in doing things the right way. He also served in the U.S. Army Reserves and was activated during the Cuban Missile Crisis, answering that call with quiet devotion and resolve.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Carol; their children, Donna Vega and her husband Louie, Mark Krzykalski; and Robert Krzykalski and his wife Annmarie; and his grandchildren, Jessica, Nicole, Louis, Grace, William, Elizabeth, and Ava. Above all else, Robert cherished time with his family, offering a steady presence, a generous heart, and a warmth that made others feel at home.
He also found joy in simple pleasures and favorite traditions—visiting the casinos, playing in poker tournaments, and spending time at the beach at Island Beach State Park. Alongside his dedication and strong work ethic, Robert was known for a light, humorous spirit and a kind-hearted way of meeting the world, leaving behind memories that will be revisited with gratitude and affection.
Relatives and friends will be received on Friday, September 18, 2026, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Rd., Toms River, NJ 08755.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at 10 a.m. in the St. Maximilian Kolbe Roman Catholic Church, 130 St. Maximilian Lane, Toms River, NJ 08757. Committal services will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Road, North Arlington, NJ 07031.
