Rosemary Vitiello, 83, of Berkeley Twp., NJ passed away Wednesday, October 27th, 2021, at Jersey Shore University Hospital in Neptune, NJ. Rosemary was born in Newark, NJ, lived in Bloomfield and later in Somerset with her family before moving to Holiday City 26 years ago. Whether in her work as a waitress at the Cedar Grove Inn or as a teacher’s assistant with the Somerset County school district, she was truly loved by all. Rosemary was a caring and compassionate woman who brought her nurturing nature and fun sense of humor to all aspects of her work and her life.
Thoroughly dedicated to her family, Rosemary spent as much time as possible with those she loved. She raised nine children and helped to raise entire generations of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rosemary could often be found supporting her family with acts of unconditional love, whether dedicating time to attend events, graduations, or hitting “like” on every social media post to show that she cared. Her grandchildren remember spending summers crabbing with her and their grandfather on the boat, teaching her new card games, being spoiled by secret snacks, and bonding over watching The Bachelor together. Christmas gatherings held so much warmth and love for the family, with favorite dishes, extra kisses, and songs sung by the Lambo sisters.
Rosemary lived life to the fullest with family and friends. A Jersey girl through and through, she loved spending time down the shore and being by the water. Rosemary had a full and rich social life and was involved in many activities in her community. Whether playing bocce, dominoes, bunko, or bowling, she could be found entertaining, making friends, and keeping good company.
Rosemary was predeceased by her husband Jerry (2007) and her two sons Glenn Vitiello and Bobby Vitiello. She is survived by her seven children: Richard Walsh (Hannah), Michael Walsh (Kathy), Joan Walsh (Laura), Judy Walsh (Dana), Steven Vitiello (Michelle), Catherine Slootmaker (John), and Lisa Vitiello and her significant other Eugene. Rosemary is also survived by her 12 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, her siblings; Priscilla DeOliviera (Justin), Patricia Lambo, and Angelo Lambo (Michelle), and her two daughters-in-law; Julie Vitiello and Michelle Vitiello.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 5th, 2021, from 9:00am-12:00pm at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Rd., Toms River. Funeral services will begin there promptly at 11:30 am.
