Salvatore Desiderio

Salvatore Desiderio, 82, passed away on May 16, 2026. Born on April 4, 1944, in the Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Concetta (Serino) Desiderio. Salvatore also lived in Long Island, NY, where he raised his family.

Sal loved being with family especially cooking Sunday macaroni dinners and watching his beloved NY Giants and NY Yankees. You could always find him listening and singing along to his favorite oldies.

On September 26, 1964, Sal married his beloved wife, Anna. Together they built a life centered on family, faith, and enduring devotion until her passing in April of 2026.

He was a loving father to two children, Tonianne and Salvatore Jr. (Coney), and a proud grandfather to Cheyenne Newfield and Gabriella Desiderio. He is also survived by his siblings: Louis Desiderio (Terry), Theresa Scher, Thomas Desiderio, Louise Roy, his lifelong friend John Maggio and his wife Annamarie, Sal's loving extended family Ralph Loria (Maria), Daniel Loria, Anthony Loria (Mimi), Joseph Loria and his many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Sal was predeceased by his brother, Ralph Desiderio, his brother in law Anthony Scher and sister in law Rosemarie Loria.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 130 St Maximilian Ln, Toms River, NJ on May 20, 2026, at 12:00 pm, followed by a Committal service at St Joseph's Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleums, 62 Cedar Grove Rd, Toms River, NJ.
