Salvatore Di Giacomo

Salvatore R. DiGiacomo, 88, of Berkeley Township passed away Thursday November 19, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Brooklyn, NY Salvatore had lived in Staten Island before moving to Berkeley 18 years ago. Salvatore was a US Army Veteran who proudly served his country. He was a Communications Operator with NY Telephone for 30 years until his retirement in 1986.

Sal enjoyed line dancing with his wife, Grace. He volunteered in his community doing audio visual production. He enjoyed playing tennis. One of his biggest enjoyments was his time spent with his Canine Buddy, Rudy.

Salvatore is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Grace, his brother Jack Como and his sister, Fran Maffei, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service for immediate family only will be held Sunday, November 22, 2020 from 10 am to 12 pm at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Rd., Toms River, NJ 08755 with a prayer service to begin at 12 pm.

A Memorial Service for friends will be scheduled in the near future.

Dear Uncle Sal,

Thank you for being you!!! You were always there when I needed you .Teaching me to drive , picking up my first new car in NYC and then driving it back to SI because I was afraid to.

Even though we were now on opposite sides of the country we still had our same connection. Your amazing sense of humor will be missed.
