

Toms River, Stephen J Fraunberger - age 65 passed away Saturday November 14, 2015 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. "Steve" was born in 1950 in Clifton, NJ to the late Stephen Sr. and Elizabeth Fraunberger. He graduated from Valley Forge Military Academy where he enjoyed playing football. He went on to receive his Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Steve enlisted in the United States Army. His patriotism was legendary. He was a proud member of the North Jersey chapter of the 82nd Airborne and a proud "All American."
He was honored to be a member of the VFW where he was a former commander. He often played "Santa" during Christmas for the children. And friends called him "Teddy."
In his civilian life, Steve was a retired probation officer of Paterson, NJ. He followed in his father's footsteps and served in law enforcement. He taught Confraternity of Christian Doctrine for the Roman Catholic Church and coached little league.
Steve is survived by his beloved wife, Alexis and three children:Carol Fraunberger Long, Kyle Fraunberger and Mary-Claire Capp. He leaves a brother Jim Fraunberger, sister-in-law Linda a niece and nephew, Christina and David and many many friends.
In retirement, Steve enjoyed playing golf, swimming and reading mystery novels. He volunterred for the Red Cross in blood drives. He believed strongly in giving back.
We all feel safe knowing that Steve is watching over us as he id during his life.
