

Susan Immersi DiMaio, 93, died Thursday, July 13, 2023, in Naples, FL. Born in Newark, NJ to Gerardo and Elisabetta Immersi, she raised her family in Hackettstown, NJ and retired to Toms River, NJ, where she was the manager of Toms River High School South cafeteria. Last fall, she moved to Naples, FL to be near her children. Her family – and the friends and neighbors she treated as family – were the center of her world her entire life. She set the standard for celebrations and holiday traditions – a strong legacy that will live on through her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Andrew DiMaio, and her brothers, Frank Immersi and Dominick Immersi. She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Roseann and James McTernan, Joseph and Carla DiMaio, and Teresa and Edwin Janeczek; her sister and brother-in-law, Michelina and Mario Galli; four grandsons, Brian McTernan, Timothy McTernan and his wife Dominique, Edwin Janeczek and his wife Esme, and Andrew Janeczek and his fiancée Maria; four great-granddaughters, Lila Janeczek, Sophie McTernan, Madelyn McTernan, and Lily McTernan; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A visitation for Susan will be held Friday, July 21, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Quinn Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River, NJ 08755. Funeral Services will beginning promptly at 12:00 PM. An Entombment will follow to Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River, NJ 08755.
