Sam was born in Yugoslavia and immigrated to the USA in 1958. There he met his true love, Marie Sarro, and they married two weeks later. They enjoyed a full and happy life until her passing in 2020. Their most treasured times were with family and friends.
Sam had a television repair business and after seven years of night school became a school teacher. He had many interests including chess, astronomy, music, traveling and sports of any kind (both as a participant and a spectator). He played the piano and enjoyed tennis, skiing and bocce. He regularly cheered for the Mets, Jets, Nets and Islanders.
In addition to his wife, Sam is predeceased by his brother Radoslav and his sister Katiza. He is survived by his daughters Maria and Cathy, granddaughters Shaina and Erica, great grandson Brody and extended family and friends who loved him.
