

Thomas F. Farley age 80 of Whiting died Thursday September 6th at home after a lengthy illness. He was a truck driver for Gross and Hecht, Edison for over 35 years before retiring in 1994. He was a decorated veteran of the Korean War serving in the Army and a member of the Presbyterian Church of Toms River. Thomas enjoyed long walks, Atlantic City and spending time at the horse track. He was born in Newark, living there and Elizabeth, Hillside, Edison, Barnegat and Forked River before moving to Whiting 8 years ago. He is predeceased by his brothers Jim, Paul and Joe, sisters Patricia, Kathy and Dorothy. Surviving are his wife Margaret of 48 years, a daughter and son in law Melissa and Lou Prosperi of Beachwood, 1 brother John Farley, stepdaughter Patricia Smith and her partner Gary Romer of Edison, 4 grandchildren Jackie, Randy, Gary, Jr., and Charlie, 3 great grandchildren Jamie, Jr., Justin and Skylar, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visiting will be Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm with a funeral service at 7:30 pm at the Quinn Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Rd. Toms River. Burial will be 10 am Tuesday at the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ. Please arrive at the funeral home on Tuesday at 8:30 am. In lieu of flowers please consider a contribution to his family.
