Born in Morristown, NJ to Thomas A. and Florence (Gillick) Galloway, Tom graduated from Boonton High School, then served in the U.S. Army Reserves. Following his service Tom and his father started G & G Motors Auto Sales in Newark. He moved on to sales for General Motors and Chevrolet. Over the next 40 years Tom was a trusted salesman to many repeat customers, with some who brought their children and even grandchildren to buy a car from Tom. He received recognition and many awards from General Motors.
Toms was a lifelong auto enthusiast and a walking encyclopedia of the auto industry: manufacturers, models, mechanical specs, design trends and many other details. He was an avid golfer, football fan, and loved boating on Barnegat Bay when he lived on the bay at Good Luck Point.
He also served as Treasurer and a Board Member of the Berkeley Township Sewerage Authority. Tom and Bobbie were instrumental in getting sewer service extended into many neighborhoods in Berkeley Township.
He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 48 years, “sweet Bobbie” Barbara (DeSalvo); grandson James Marshall and daughter-in-law Amy Smith. He was predeceased by his step children Robert Marshall and Lori Marshall who considered him a father.
