Toms River - Thomas Gregory Gannon, age 67, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.

Born October 14, 1953 in Jersey City, he resided in Monmouth County before settling in Toms River 40 years ago. Tom graduated from Red Bank Catholic High School, Franklin and Marshall College, and Seton Hall Law School.

Thomas was an attorney and partner in the local practice, Hiering, Gannon & McKenna. Tom's encyclopedia knowledge of the law and his fairness to all parties gained him the admiration and respect of others in his profession.

Tom was a devoted husband and father, often traveling distances to cheer his sons on playing sports. He was an avid fan of the Yankees, Giants, and anything to do with soccer - including the weather channel forecasts for the pitch. He loved bragging about all of his grandkids.

He was predeceased by his loving wife of 30 years, Betty Ann; and his parents, William P. Gannon II and Elaine Gannon.

Surviving are his sons: Thomas G., Jr. and his wife Kristen, James and his wife Roberta, and Andrew and his wife Lauren; 4 grandchildren: Skylar, Thomas III "Tripp", Luke, and Finn, with two more grandsons coming this summer; his siblings: Mark Gannon and his wife Debbie, Paul Gannon and his wife Michele, Kathleen Solazzo and partner Mike, Matt Gannon and his wife Beth, Patrice Schneider, and William P. Gannon III and his fiancée Kim; two sisters-in-law: Patty Mancini and Theresa Simon; and many nieces and nephews.

A private viewing will be held for the family. A public mass of Catholic burial will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at 11:30am at St. Joseph RC Church, Toms River. Interment will immediately follow at St. Catharine Cemetery in Sea Girt. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made in memory of Thomas Gannon to Mary's Place by the Sea at www.marysplacebythesea.org or mailed to PO Box 86, Ocean Grove, NJ 07756.

TO THE GANNON FAMILY
TOM AND I ATTENTED RED BANK CATHOLIC TOGETHER. AFTER HIGH SCHOOL WE SPENT MANY NIGHTS PARTYING DOWN THE SHORE AND THE CIRCUIT IN ASBURY PARK WITH BRIAN WILSON AND RICK KARINJA. AND ALSO HIS COUSINS AND BROTHER MARK. I REMEMBER HE HAD AN AMERICAN MOTORS AMX. TOM WAS ALWAYS EASY TO GET ALONG WITH BUT DIDN'T TAKE ANY CRAP. I WAS GLAD I HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO SEE HIM AND BETTY A FEW YEARS AGO. I KNEW BETTY FROM BEING IN MY HOME ROOM AT RBC. MAY THEY BOTH REST IN PEACE.
