OBITUARY

Thomas G. Graham

August 27, 1941May 14, 2020

Dr. T. Glenn Graham, 78, of Toms River, passed away on Thursday May 14, 2020 at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Born in Newark, NJ he graduated from Brick High School. He was a part of Brick Township’s first graduating class (1959) and a member of the football team. After graduation, Dr. Graham served in the US Army as a Nuclear Weapons Specialist and was a volunteer Chaplain’s Assistant. After leaving the military, Glenn earned a BS in Education from Temple University in 1981. He was employed by the Philadelphia School District until 1995.

Upon retiring from teaching, Glenn earned credits in Clinical Pastoral Education from Jeanes Hospital in Philadelphia. Later he volunteered at several nursing homes in the Philadelphia area where he and his family provided musical worship for the residents. He also was a longtime volunteer with suicide prevention and hospice care.

After 9/11, Dr. Graham continued to take online classes and traveled to many seminars related to crisis intervention and ministering to first responders. He volunteered as a chaplain with the 8th District of Philadelphia Police Dept. In 2011, a Doctorate of Divinity was conferred upon Dr. Graham from the United Graduate School and Seminary.

Glenn has resided in Toms River since 2018. He leaves behind his wife Elsie, two daughters Margaret (Meg) Graham and Heather Shapo, a son Daniel Graham and two grandchildren Lilith and Talkamar Shapo.

A private burial will take place on Tuesday May 19, 2020 at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran’s Cemetery 350 Provinceline Road Wrightstown, NJ 08562. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.quinn-hoppingfh.com.
