Thomas Michael Onions

January 22, 1991 – August 4, 2026
Obituary of Thomas Michael Onions
IN THE CARE OF

Quinn Hopping Funeral Home

Thomas Michael Onions, 35, was born January 22, 1991, in Rahway, New Jersey, and died August 4, 2026 at the home of his mother in Toms River, NJ, surrounded by his family. He was raised in Avenel and Toms River, and in 2021 relocated to Asbury Park, New Jersey along with his wife, Ariel and their dog Bailey. He was a graduate of Toms River High School East.

Thomas built a career with United Parcel Service, where he served as a delivery driver after starting in 2014, building great friendships with his union brothers.

Thomas loved good company. He brought laughter to every room he entered. He took pride in being generous and making those around him feel at ease. His life was filled with laughter and love, and he spread that laughter and love to those around him.

Thomas enjoyed adventure and the outdoors, and loved kayaking, camping and dirt biking. He had a competitive spirit, and could often be found defeating opponents at cornhole with Ariel playing by his side. He also played in a local pick-up softball league and flag football. He loved playing, and winning, games with his friends.

Thomas always treasured being with his family, growing up with his older brother Kevin and all of his cousins. The memories from his childhood with his brother and cousins were something he held close to his heart. Family was everything to him.

Thomas cherished his wife and his dearly loved dog, Bailey. He built a beautiful and lively home with them in Asbury Park, enjoying margaritas at Barrio Costero and, of course, listening to the Wu-Tang Clan. He loved watching football, and was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys.

Thomas is survived by his wife of six years, Ariel Easton; his mother, Carolyn Onions; his brother, Kevin Onions; his grandmother, Anne Malone; his in-laws, Michele, David and Marian Easton. He was preceded in death by his father, Timothy Onions.

Relatives and friends will be received on Saturday August 15th from 2:00PM to 4:00PM and 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Rd., Toms River, NJ 08755. A celebration of life ceremony will be conducted in the funeral home at 7:00PM. Thomas will be cremated privately as was his wish.

Come as you are, or in your favorite sports jersey, Wu-Tang Clan shirt, or 90’s hip hop shirt. Life is short but Wu-Tang is forever.
