Beautiful pictures of a man who obviously treasured the simple things in life - cars, music and his family.  I'm so happy you shared these pictures.  Very heartwarming to see Tom in better health and to know that he had all of those nice memories to enjoy during his illness.

Unfortunately, I only knew Tom while he was ill. I was one of the nurses that took care of him at Fountain View subacute unit. I found out quickly he liked to be in control--but it's hard to be in control in that setting, you are dependant on your caretakers. I said, " you know you're a control freak" and he said, " yes, I am, how did you guess" and we both laughed. After that he began to trust me and we became friends. He would talk about when he was in his band playing at the Chatterbox in Seaside Heights back in the 60's--I remembered that era  because we were similar in age. He would talk about the highs and lows of his life; I would just listen knowing it needed to be said. He had no illusions his health was his biggest obstacle. His wish was that he could go home, even for a little while. I would always say to him, " I'm rooting for you, Tom". But his health was just too fragile and his luck ran out. I and many of those at FVCC are saddened by his passing. Many of us would have liked to have gone to his wake but it was too close to our work schedule of 3-11. 
My thoughts go out to his son Tom, his pride and joy, and his adorable Mom, whom I've both met. I pray they get through the greif and know Tom tried to live his life on his terms as best he could.
