Ursula Bach passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 20, 2021. She was born Ursula Gebauer in a small German town which, after World War II, became part of Poland. Her family was displaced from their home during the war and after they were reunited and rehomed on the German island of Fohr in the North Sea. Here, Ursula’s family established a flower shop and Ursula learned the art of floral designing, starting at a very young age. At 19, Ursula decided to travel to America and explore the possibilities life had to offer beyond the island. Ursula headed straight to New York City where she worked several different jobs until she found herself once again doing what she loved, working as a florist. She enjoyed sharing stories of her time working at Rhinelander’s Florist in New York. While in New York, Ursula met the man who would become her husband, Charles Bach. After they wed, Charlie and Ursula purchased their first home in Edison, New Jersey. They would later move to Old Bridge and then eventually to Lakewood where they built the home that they loved and where they raised their family. Ursula loved being Oma to her grandchildren and took pride and joy in their accomplishments. She was an avid collector and loved watching Kitchen Nightmares.
Ursula is predeceased by her husband, Charles. She is survived by her daughter and her husband, Erika and David Karu, her son and his wife, Peter and Jennifer Bach, and her grandchildren, Emily Karu, Rebecca Karu, Elizabeth Karu, Charlie Bach, Cassandra Bach and Chandler Bach.
