Violet Richards Caldwell, 92, of Silver Ridge Park North, Toms River, passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at her home, with her daughter and granddaughter by her side. Born and raised in Bloomfield, NJ, she raised her family in Edison before moving to Toms River in 1986. Violet was employed by NJ Bell Telephone Company in Newark and the Edison Township Board of Education, retiring in 1986. She was a member of the Lakehurst Presbyterian Church, Silver Ridge Park North Women’s Club, First Aid Auxiliary, Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post #8352, NJREA, and Women’s Group of Lakehurst Presbyterian Church.
Violet was predeceased by her beloved husband of 59 years, William Reeves Caldwell in 2007 and her dear son William Robert Caldwell in 2010. She was also predeceased by her brothers Robert and Laurent Richards and their spouses.
Surviving are her loving daughter and son-in law Debra and Ralph Severini of Toms River NJ and North Fort Myers FL, and her cherished and loving granddaughter, Dana Lynn Severini and her fiance David Pelesko of Morristown NJ. Also surviving are a brother Ronald Richards and his wife of Winter Park FL, and several nephews and a niece. Violet was loved by so many for her genuinely kind nature. Her smile and contagious sense of humor will be remembered every day by family and friends.
Funeral services are private and interment will be at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans’ Cemetery Arneytown, NJ.
