She leaves behind her husband, Remegio and daughters, Aileen and the late Theresa.
Loving sister of Benjamin Sr. (deceased), Efren (deceased), Toribio Jr. and Delia.
She graduated with a business degree from Far Eastern University in Manila, Philippines and came to Canada on her own in 1965. She was a single working woman, living in an apartment with girlfriends in downtown Toronto.
It was in Toronto that Aida met her husband, Remegio and soon after they were married at St. Basil’s Catholic Parish in April 1972.
Aida was well-loved by family and was known as simply “Tita Ides”. She welcomed everyone into her home and treated everyone like her own family. When one was in her home, she fed you – whether you were hungry or not.
Before the onset of Alzheimer’s, Aida enjoyed bowling, completing word search puzzles, going to family BBQs, taking a trip to the casino and eating out, especially for a good steak dinner.
A visitation for Aida will be held Tuesday, July 1, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Homes, 6191 Yonge Street, Toronto. A visitation will occur Wednesday, July 2, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 6191 Yonge Street, Toronto. A mass of christian burial will occur Thursday, July 3, 2025 at 9:30 AM at St. Paschal Baylon Parish, 92 Steeles Ave W, Vaughan. A committal service will occur Thursday, July 3, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, 8361 Yonge St, Thornhill.
