August 22, 1921 - February 8, 2019
It is with deep gratitude for the imitable life of Annie Hanoman, that we announce her gentle passing in her ninety-seventh plus year.
As per Annie's wishes, she will be privately cremated on Wednesday, February 13, 2019. Family and friends are invited to a thanksgiving service to celebrate her life in the summer of 2019, followed by the internment of her ashes, as per her wishes. A date, time and location for the memorial service and internment will be shared closer to the summer months.
Annie was the beloved eldest of nine children of James and Julia (nee Sukra) Hanoman of Berbice, Guyana. Annie was a loving and nurturing sister of her siblings, Esther, Walter, Lloyd, Roland, Charles, Eileen, Susil and Lindsay.
Annie was a devoted mother and aunt of Rosamund Hanoman Jhagroo, Michelle Mala Hanoman, Lloyd Jason Hanoman, Simone Hanoman Soobrian, James Hanoman Soobrian, Christopher Jhagroo, Joshua Rasa, Shania Rasa, Myuri Malcolm, and Marcus Malcolm, among many other nieces, nephews and cousins in Canada, USA, UK, and other parts of the Commonwealth.
Annie was a formidable woman who shared her parents' Presbyterian habits of continual prayers and reading of scriptures, with knowledge and faith in God's imperishable love which permitted her to stand strong. Up to the very end, she took every action entrusted to her purposefully, and doing all that she could diligently, she trusted God will do the rest.
Annie was a blessing to us, and she cherished and fostered the togetherness and love of family. We will love her forever. She has earned her rest; and may she be at peace in the gardens of our Lord.
"I will be your God throughout your lifetime--until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you." -- Isaiah 46:4
