Thomas Albert McGinty born June 1, 1918 in Toronto, amidst the Spanish pandemic, struggled through the Great Depression. He then went on to enlist in the Canadian Service Corps at the outbreak of World War ll. Following his service he returned to Toronto and worked at Canada Post until retirement.
To nobody’s surprise, Bert the eldest Veteran at Sunnybrook Veterans Centre, got his wish, when at 105 his eyes didn’t open on this 75th Remembrance Day.
While the Chaplin read his final blessings, the bagpipes could be heard playing at the stroke of 11:00am and Bert hitched a ride on the flypast that crossed his window that day.
Loved & will be missed by many❤️
At the request of the family a private funeral will be held.
