After an eight month fight against cancer, Solomon passed away peacefully on August 17, 2015 with his wife Jennifer by his side. He is lovingly remembered by Jenn, his parents, Kim and Son, his mother-in-law Jane, his siblings, Mongkol (Sadie), Thida (A.P.), Thi Hannah, and Mike (Alana), his two nieces Arielle and Claire, and his many friends. Sol will be remembered as the kind, funny, outgoing, athletic person that he was, and for all of the joy he brought to the lives he touched. Sol was a talented chef, an avid MMA fan, and a light in whatever room he entered. Even in the hardest times, Sol's unwavering optimism has been an inspiration to everyone around him. Special thanks to Sol's loving family and friends for their unconditional support, the wonderful nurses from Spectrum, and his compassionate medical team, Dr. Whelan and Dr. Jang. Family and friends are invited to the Jerrett Funeral Home "North York Chapel", 6191 Yonge St (south of Steeles Ave) on Thursday, August 20th, 2015 from 6-9pm and Friday, August 21st, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-9pm. A Celebration of his life will be held in the chapel on Saturday, August 22nd, 2015 at 1pm. Any donations honouring Solomon can be made to the Tim Horton Children's Foundation (www.thcf.com), or Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care (www.tlcpc.org). I lost my husband when we were both 33 in a tragic accident while he was working. We have one daughter together who was five years old at the time. She is now twelve. The day he died my whole world flipped upside down.
The optimism Sol and Jen shared warms my heart. I rented the movie and watched it four times.

I read about you and your wife Jenn in People magazine. After reading the story and watching your wedding video, it reminded me not to waste a single day and take nothing for granted. My thoughts and prayers to you, Jenn and your family and friends.

I am so sorry for your loss. I read your story online and you and Sol have touched my life. I will remember not to let another day go wasted. I know that families can be together forever. Marriage need not end here on this earth, but can go on for eternity. God bless you and keep you wrapped up in His arms.

Though I never met Sol, I can tell from his gorgeous smile and kind eyes that he was genuinely thoughtful, funny, and loved life. The world is a better place for him having lived, and touching the lives of those that loved him. He will never be forgotten.

There's nothing that any of us can say to alleviate your pain, but please know, Jenn, that you and Sol have inspired so many of us with your beautiful story--we should never be afraid to love, and each day spent with those closest to our hearts should be cherished.
