It is with deep sadness that the family of Cecelia Maria Lowe-Ching (nee Chin) announces her peaceful passing at her home in Thornhill, surrounded by family. Cecelia is predeceased by her loving husband, Percy, and will be deeply missed by her two beloved children, Sue (Gus Dedes) and Richard (Tamara). Cecelia also leaves behind her five treasured grandchildren, Tyson, Sydney Carter, Steve and Angelina.
Cecelia was born in Kingston, Jamaica, on November 18, 1932, to a loving family. She was one of 12 children, and her father ran a successful import and export business. In 1974, Cecelia immigrated to Canada with Percy, Richard and Sue. Cecelia was known as the family storyteller and could put a smile on anyone's face. Cecelia loved to dress up and go to dances as well as go to the beach. Cecelia was a very talented cook and passionately loved Chinese and Jamaican food. She was also a gifted piano player and many passersby were treated to the music drifting from the house. Cecelia will leave a positive impact on those who were lucky enough to know her. Cecelia dearly loved her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy.
