With heavy hearts and deep reverence, we announce the peaceful passing of Chung Nam Kim, a devoted servant of God, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and a man whose life was defined by faith, sacrifice, and enduring love.
Chung Nam Kim was born on July 5, 1939, in Japan, one of seven siblings. At the age of five, he returned with his family to South Korea, where he was raised and shaped by the values of perseverance, humility, and devotion that would guide him throughout his life.
In 1972, with courage and hope for a better future, he immigrated to Toronto, Canada, alongside his wife and two young sons, Robert and John. Through hard work and unwavering determination, he built not only a new life, but a strong and loving foundation for his family.
He experienced profound loss with the passing of his first wife in 1999. Yet in time, he was blessed again with love when he married Gem Hwa Seo, who became his extraordinary partner, closest companion, and dearest friend. Together, they shared a bond rooted in faith, mutual respect, and deep affection.
A man of deep and abiding faith, Chung Nam Kim was a faithful servant of God within the Jehovah’s Witness community. He was passionate about sharing and spreading the message of God—the Truth—and dedicated his life to living in accordance with his beliefs. His faith was not only something he spoke of, but something he lived every day through his kindness, humility, and unwavering integrity.
Above all, he was a devoted family man. He took immense pride in his sons and found great joy in his four beloved grandchildren—Isaac, Alexander, Jeanie, and Breanna—each of whom brought him endless happiness and pride. His love for his family was steadfast and unconditional, and his legacy lives on through them.
Chung Nam Kim was admired, respected, and deeply loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His gentle strength, generous spirit, and quiet wisdom left a lasting impression on countless lives.
He passed peacefully, surrounded by the family he cherished so deeply. Though he is no longer with us, his faith, his love, and his legacy will continue to guide and inspire all who remember him.
He will be dearly missed, forever remembered, and eternally loved.
May he rest in peace.
