Dahn Alexander Batchelor passed away peacefully at Sunnybrook Health Centre on Friday July 17, 2020 at 3:34pm surrounded by family. Beloved husband of Ayako Batchelor and loving father to Sarah and Michelle (the late Leslie Ollivierre), and the only grandpa (gako) to Serena, Elysia, Bella, Eva and Tristan. He will also be missed by his favourite cat 'Happy'. Dahn is survived by his cousin Sharon and nephews Mark and Brett.
Over the past 44 years Dahn was a representative for Canada with the United Nations advocating for justice and human rights and most proudly helped bring about the bill of rights for young offenders.
He will forever be remembered for his stories he told us (likely more than once), his love of playing the piano, updating his blog, working on his memoirs, and his famous concoction only 'he' would drink.
He will forever be in our hearts.
Visiting will be held on Friday, July 24, 2020 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM & 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Homes, 6191 Yonge Street, Toronto. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, July 25, 2020 from 10:30 AM. Interment to follow at York Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dahn's memory may be made to Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario, www.heartandstroke.ca; and Sunnybrook Research Foundation, https://sunnybrook.ca.
