Edmundo Manasan

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edmundo F. Manasan. On Sunday, February 9, 2025, Edmundo died peacefully after a short illness. He was 85 years old.

A devoted husband and adoring father, Edmundo is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Pacita; his children Fernando (Regina), Eduardo (Victoria), Patricia, and Rebecca (John); and his six grandchildren Claramae (Andrew), Josephina (Mark), Veronica (Jonathan), Brandon, Isabella, and Sean.

Edmundo was born on May 9, 1939 to Andres and Cornelia Manasan in Manila, Philippines. He immigrated to Canada with his family in 1989. He was the eldest of seven, the apple of his mother’s eye. Both parents are now deceased. He was the older brother to siblings Roberto, Teresa, Virginia, Andres Jr. (deceased), Feliciano, and Victoria.

Edmundo’s varied career included work in information technology, automobile manufacturing, and management consultancy.

Edmundo will be remembered as a remarkable man of quiet distinction, whose passion for photography, music, food, and travel were enjoyed throughout his life. He will be greatly missed.

The family would like to express deep thanks to the staff at Markham Stouffville Hospital; and in particular, to his oncologist and friend, Dr. Leena Hajra; for their compassionate care.
