

He is survived by wife Leftera, his sons Vasco (Francesca) and Joti (Vangelica), and his grandchildren Lazo (Trisha), Taso (Julie), Michael (Ema) and Alex. He will be deeply missed by his siblings Helen, Mara, Spiro (Kala), and Sophie, along with many nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.
He is predeceased by his parents and his daughter Vera, along with his 3 brother-in-laws.
He will be remembered for his long political career, his devotion to his family, and for his love of a breakfast of bacon and eggs before an outing to the casino.
The family would like to thank all the wonderful staff at Cummer Lodge for caring for Fone over the past three years, as well as the staff at North York General Hospital for the compassionate care provided during the last days of his life.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday June 22, 2022 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the Kane-Jerrett
Funeral Home, 6191 Yonge Street in North York. Entombment Service will be held the following day at 11 am at Westminster Cemetery, 5830 Bathurst Street in North York.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Fone's memory to The War Amps, to support amputees in Canada.
