Hello Betty and family
Just wanted to thank both you and "Mr. Stewart" for a wonderful  Shawinigan education. We really did have a great sports foundation and school was such a center of life and fun.
I did go on to McGill and took PE also.....a tribute to you as I look back. I taught for 6 years till kids took over. 
My husband Dave, sends his condolences. He too started his love of sports with George.

To Betty and the Stewart family.  George (and Betty) were a major part of making my school life in Shawinigan High happy and challenging.  Basketball, track and field kept my brain and body active.  They even taught l950's dancing on the side..... but it was the history he 'taught'. The first five minutes usually involved a question on  'living'.  We learned much about morals and life and the lesson usually finished with ' read chapter ---- and be prepared to discuss it at the next lesson.  I never heard of anyone failing history. The tribute to the  respect we felt for George.  Such great memories.  Penny

To The family of George Stewart
I do remember the times we had while George was working with me and the visits we so enjoyed. I particularly remember a trip to the cottage in Muskoka when you brought the camper.
It has been a long time and I mentioned the notice to my friend June  Cavers and she wanted me to send along her condolences as well.
I remain available for advice if you need any, even though it is a long time since I practiced law.

Sending our deepest sympathy to Pam, Amber, Shawn, Dale, Mrs. Stewart and all the family. Having met Mr. Stewart a number of times over the years, I remember him as a very kind and amiable man. I know how much Pam and all the (now adult) kids loved and admired him. He had a long and meaningful life and now can rest in peace.

It was such a privilege to me you at John MacLeod's 80th birthday celebration now 13 years ago as Dad now turns 93.
You will be sorely missed by your great friend John.

Our deepest condolences to Betty and the whole Stewart Family. We have known George as a dear friend at Forest Grove United Church for many years and he was a dedicated member of the congregation.. He was always friendly and warm and shared many life stories with us including his growing up in Quebec. We will always remember his warm and loving personality and his dedication as a parishioner and a  family man.
