

After a long illness, Godfrey passed away at North York General Hospital on February 21, 2016 in his 70th year. Retired Teacher with the York Region Public School Board. Passionate devotee of the history of Toronto and in particular, an avid supporter of the Toronto Transit Commission. Former member of St. James Cathedral, Church of the Holy Trinity in Toronto, and Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Thornhill. Predeceased by his parents Reginald Godfrey Mallion and Christina Stewart Mallion (nee Cowe). Survived by his cousins Harold and Evelyn Godfrey, and Brian Beagle. Fondly remembered by his adopted family: Muriel, Paul, Bill, Terry and Dale Smith, and Ellen and Steve Mahony. "Uncle Godfrey" to Sean, Allison, Brett, Derrik, Catherine, Corey, Kyle, Jaron, and Nadine. Special friend to Richard Dvernachuk, Valerie and Dave Burke.
Visitation will be held at The Jerrett Funeral Home "North York Chapel", 6191 Yonge St. (south of Steeles Ave.) on Friday, February 26, 2016 from 10 a.m. until time of service in the chapel at 11 a.m. Interment at Highland Memory Gardens. If desired, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
