Hector Alexander Ellington

Hector Alexander Ellington was born on August 10, 1932, and peacefully passed on February 14, 2026 (the day of love) at the young age of 93. He lived a long and meaningful life, touching the hearts of many with his wisdom, warmth, and steady presence.

Beloved husband of the late Shirley Elaine Ellington.

Loving father of Wayne Habbib, Cedric (Ricky) Habbib, Myrna Habbib and Cornel Ellington, and his daughter in law Sheryl. Predeceased by his son Calvin (Michael) Habbib, as well as his daughter in law Debbie Habbib.

Dearest grandfather of Dayne, Kadesha, Monique, Phyllichia, Brittnee, Brandon, Jahiel, Zanayah, Nahyoki and Malachi.

Great grandfather of Jahmai, Kaiyah, Koda, Caleb, Kario, Jahriah.

Hector is also survived by brother Windsor (Georgie) Ellington.

He will be fondly remembered by his stories, his guidance and the way he brought people together. His life was a testament to commitment to family, strength through generations, and quiet kindness.

Visiting will be held at the Kane-Jerrett North York Funeral Home (6191 Yonge St. south of Steeles Ave.) on Sunday March 1, 2026 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm as well as on Monday from 10 am until 11:00 am. Funeral Service will be held on Monday March 2, 2026 in the chapel at 11:00 am.

Interment to follow at Westminster Cemetery.
