This is a memory written last week by his Grandson Richard Tempest:

" To the man who taught me how to work hard, always shared tidbits of knowledge.
To the man who taught me how to play cribbage at the cottage & skunked me more than once but I always wanted to play another game with.
To the man I simply knew as Grandpa Mac RIP and thank you for the memories, sir. "

Bill and I became friends with Nora Jean and Harry through Glenview Choir when both families were looking to buy our first homes. Then there were the shared cottage holidays in the Thousand Islands and the rotating child care. Harry has been
" Uncle Harry" to our daughters all their lives. The parties, the dinners, the bridge games and the caring have been part of our friendship over the last sixty years.
There are so many memories.

Dear Nora-Jean and family,
Please accept my deep condolences on your loss. Harry McAdie was and will always be a pillar of the river community that evolved in the Thousand Islands of the St. Lawrence River. I learned a great deal from the moments I was able to spend with Harry, and with you, sharing time at "The Lodge."
Sending you love and deep sympathies at this time.........
