Iain Richard Gurr CPA, CA

Born in England, Iain spent his early childhood in Borneo before moving to Canada, where he later attended St. Andrew’s College. A man of deep faith, sharp intellect, and gentle kindness, he built a successful career as a CPA, CA, caring deeply for his many clients over the decades—not just for their financial wellbeing, but as people he genuinely supported. He continued to serve his clients right up to his sudden passing.

Iain was an avid sailor, forever chasing the horizon, with unforgettable voyages to destinations including the Greek Islands. He loved the water, the wind, and the freedom of the open sea. At home, he was known for always having a dog treat ready for Poppy and for the quiet joy he found in everyday moments like reading. barbequing, and Wordle.

He was the beloved husband of Nancy-Jo, his soulmate and great love of over 40 years. They were partners in life and also in business as certified real estate agents with "Buy The Shores Of Georgian Bay Realty". Iain will be deeply missed by his children Joanna (Qayyum), Ryan, Michael (Tania), and Heather (Kirk). His legacy is one of integrity, wisdom, and warmth.
